Survived Hurricane Matthew + Upcoming Closing Reception + New Artworks

Whoops! Been awhile since I last posted here. Stone him!!! Stone him!!! Monty Python Youtube!!

The opening reception for the Compilation show at Inner Peace Art Gallery in October was pretty darn awesome!! I’m grateful to everyone that came too!!! It was starting to get pretty ugly weather wise with Hurricane Matthew steadily approaching. I had a great time talking with everybody! I was especially honored and thankful to have Tarleton Blackwell and Dr. John Antoine Labadie there at the opening reception. Good times!! Good times!! I’m also very thankful to Melvin Morris, owner of Inner Peace Art Gallery, for including me in the Compilation show.

It was very unfortunate that Hurricane Matthew decided to dump it’s entire bladder on us over the weekend following Thursday’s opening reception. Lumberton, North Carolina was just devastated. First responders overwhelmed with evacuations, no power, no running water, only a couple of ways out of town, I-95 flooded, no gasoline available, not happy paint time anymore!! I was amazed at how everyone stepped up to the plate and helped out though. Melvin and I both each painted murals and put them outside the gallery thanking everyone.

I’m currently finishing up my last 3 committed paintings of the year and then it’s going to be utter painting chaos around my studio with the new stuff!! My foot is already tapping with anticipation. Add in my to do list, Boom! It’s on! Nothing like being in the moment painting away neither. Charles, my sculptor & painter friend, brought me a book on cubism last week with tons of artworks by other artists within. Cubism has always seemed to befuddle me for some reason. It’s all good though! No worries! I’m going to keep praying and painting, and just be thankful for what transpires. Easy peasy!!

Should of opened with this probably, but Merry Christmas!! I wish you a wonderful time with family and friends!! Call someone and tell em you love them! Trust me, they need it.

Alright then, break over! Don’t forget the Special Closing Reception January 12th, 2017, you’re most definitely invited by muwah!! I’ll leave you with some recent artworks of mine to close out this post. Get time, go to my Burritt Benson’s Art Studio Page on Facebook and give me some feedback. Take care!!
