Sara and I had a great time at the Art of the State / State of the Art reception this past saturday night at Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, North Carolina. I know there was over 700 artworks entered in the show, so there was plenty to look at and plenty of artists to talk with. I met a super cool artist whose into painting and silk printing, Bryan Cunningham. Looking forward to collaborating on some artworks together. After all I did go to college in Wilmington, and there’s plenty of good eating there, no brainer really.
Dustin Roy and Bill Prevatte, both from this area, entered some sculpture art in the show and received great responses from the crowd. Dustin creates sculptures out of twist ties. Here’s a link to a youtube video of his work www.youtube.com/watch?v=knzf77PzJVg He’s also on Facebook as “Twist Tie Guy”. I will try and get some of their artworks up on my blog sometime soon.
If your in Wilmington, NC anytime soon before February 12th, swing by the Cameron Art Museum and check out the Art of the State / State of the Art exhibit. Like I said, well over 700 artworks to look at. Check out their website for more info and photographs. www.CameronArtMuseum.org
