As some of my friends already know, my brother from another mother, John Luster, passed away this past April from his battle with cancer. I was very fortunate to be able to go visit with him and his soulmate Jindra in Los Angeles this past January. I learned so much from John, he was always helping me take my art to the next level. I miss our conversations very much. I miss my best friend tremendously. John’s with me in my heart and mind, his words of wisdom will always resonate strong. John was an awesome artist and left us way too soon. It’s still sinking in that I’m not able to pick up the phone and talk with him anymore. He always helped me get back on course when I would bolt off on a tangent. We agreed on so much it was funny. John was a great man, with a good heart, and a phenomenal artist. I admired his work ethic and devotion to his art, he set a great example.
Here’s a couple of photographs, including the cow we did together for the 2012 Cow Parade in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. It was John’s idea to do the cow and it’s now in the collection of the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, North Carolina.

Below is some of John Luster’s beautiful abstract glass artworks.
John Luster’s figurative glass artworks are just beautiful and amazing to me as well.
These took a great deal of time to hand etch, but totally worth it.
It was a great honor to be his friend.
